Patricia Henley
Canadian by birth, Patricia completed her undergraduate degree in biology before moving to the UK where she has since completed two further postgraduate degrees, including an MSc in Public Health. She is currently studying for her Doctorate in Public Health focusing on research integrity. Patricia has over 20 years of experience in clinical research within a variety of roles, including: Data Manager, Trial Manager and Research Facilitator and in Quality Assurance.
Patricia is currently the Head of Research Governance and Integrity at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Her role is varied; it involves significant travel to research sites predominantly in Africa to conduct audits, provide training on subjects such as Ethics, Good Research Practice and Good Clinical Practice, and ensure that all research is conducted to the highest quality and in compliance with all regulations and guidelines. She is the Sponsor Representative, the Designated Individual under the Human Tissue Act, and is responsible for all aspects of research integrity, including conducting investigations into allegations of misconduct.
