Respond to UKRIO’s strategy consultation

UKRIO strategy consultation 2026

Help shape our next
five-year strategy

The research environment is evolving rapidly – shaped by technological change and shifting funding and policy landscapes. In this context, UKRIO is developing its next five-year strategy.

We want our strategy to be shaped by the needs, priorities, and perspectives of those working across the research ecosystem. Your insight is essential to ensuring that our future direction is both ambitious and achievable.

We invite you to respond to our strategy consultation. Hosted via an online survey, the consultation seeks your reflections on:

  • key opportunities and risks facing the research landscape
  • emerging integrity challenges
  • areas where support, guidance, or leadership are most needed
  • how UKRIO can have the greatest impact over the next five years

Your responses will inform our strategic priorities and help ensure we support research integrity in different contexts, sectors, and places.

Complete our survey

You can participate by completing a short online survey by 31 March 2026. It takes 20-30 minutes to complete and can be done anonymously.

Share it widely

We are seeking perspectives from across the full research community – including those who conduct research and those who manage, support, fund, regulate, or publish it.

If you know colleagues or associates who may wish to contribute, please share the survey with them. A broad range of voices will help ensure our strategy reflects the complexity of today’s research environment.

What’s shaping our thinking

We are not developing this strategy from a blank sheet. It will build on UKRIO’s recent growth, expanded engagement across sectors, and the evolving challenges facing research integrity.

On 11 February 2026, we hosted a Connect with UKRIO session to share our early thinking and discuss key contextual developments that will inform the strategy. The session was led by Jake Eliot, Director of Policy and External Affairs, alongside CEO Stephanie Neave and Chair of Trustees Professor Dame Linda Partridge.

We encourage you to view the recording for background context to inform your consultation response.

A recording of the 11 February 2026 Connect with UKRIO session, where we launched the strategy consultation, is available to view online.

The full event recap is available on our website.
