UKRIO releases Version 3.0 of its Self-Assessment Tool for the Concordat

UKRIO releases Version 3.0 of its Self-Assessment Tool for the Concordat
29 July 2025
We’re pleased to announce the publication of Version 3.0 of UKRIO’s Self-Assessment Tool for The Concordat to Support Research Integrity, a practical and strategic resource to help research organisations strengthen research integrity and align with the expectations of the 2025 Concordat.
First published in 2014 and updated in 2019, the Tool has now been comprehensively revised to reflect the latest Concordat requirements and sector feedback. Organisations are expected to meet the updated Concordat expectations by April 2026.
Version 3.0 offers a flexible, evidence-informed framework that enables institutions to evaluate their current practices, identify areas for improvement, and embed integrity across systems, policies, and research culture. It includes:
- Full alignment with the 2025 Concordat
- New and revised self-assessment prompts
- Expanded guidance on preparing annual research integrity statements
- Improved structure and user-friendly format
The Tool remains advisory and adaptable, supporting diverse organisational contexts and priorities. It continues to be a trusted resource for research leaders, managers, and governance teams seeking to deliver meaningful and sustainable change.
We thank all those who contributed to this revision and continue to support its use across the research community.
