UKRIO publishes summary of authorship workshops

We’re pleased to share the summary of proceedings from our authorship dispute workshops held in March 2025, which brought together over 80 stakeholders from across the UK research community.

The workshops were part of a project commissioned by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) focused on improving authorship practices and provided a collaborative space for researchers, funders, publishers, and governance professionals to review and shape three key tools currently in development: an authorship guidance document, a model procedure for resolving disputes, and an authorship strategy agreement template.

The summary captures the insights, discussions, and feedback from the workshops, which are directly informing the final versions of these tools – planned for release in September 2025.
