UKRIO publishes revised Code of Practice for Research

UKRIO publishes revised Code of Practice for Research

8 July 2025

We’re pleased to announce the publication of the revised UKRIO Code of Practice for Research (Version 3.5), an essential guide for maintaining the highest standards in research. This resource helps researchers and organisations align with recognised integrity standards, meet funder and institutional requirements, and address emerging challenges.

Version 3.5 has been updated to reflect current best practice. Key updates include alignment with the 2025 revision of the Concordat to Support Research Integrity, a new section on emerging technologies like AI, revised language to destigmatise addressing misconduct, and more.

The revised edition strengthens existing guidance while remaining accessible to researchers at all career stages and adaptable to a wide range of research settings. It continues to feature practical tools, including the widely used Recommended Checklist for Researchers

We thank the many individuals and organisations who contributed to this revision and continue to support the Code’s use across the research community.
