UKRIO is recruiting a Director of Policy and External Affairs to lead the charity’s work in influencing, engagement, and thought leadership across the research sector.

As the UK’s leading independent charity focused on research integrity, UKRIO provides expert guidance, practical support, and sector-wide leadership to promote ethical and responsible research across all disciplines. This senior role offers the opportunity to shape and influence national conversations on research integrity, strengthening UKRIO’s voice and maximising its impact across research organisations, funders, publishers, and government, as well as sector bodies, industry, and the general public.

The Director of Policy and External Affairs will lead UKRIO’s external engagement portfolio, encompassing communications, public affairs, and strategic initiatives. Working closely with the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team, the postholder will advance UKRIO’s strategic objectives, enhance its public profile, and develop impactful partnerships that promote integrity in research.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a strategic leader with expertise in policy, external affairs, or communications, and a strong understanding of the research, charity, higher education, or public sector landscape.

Key details:

  • Permanent position
  • Salary: £60,000–£65,000 per annum
  • Hybrid role, with attendance at UKRIO’s London Euston office required on Mondays and Wednesdays
