Delegate registration open for UKRIO 2019 conference

Delegate registration is now open for UKRIO’s 2019 annual conference.

Held in central London, the conference will address how to support a culture of high quality and ethical research. We will discuss how to respond to common issues and pitfalls and provide an update for new developments within the sector. With a range of expert speakers such as Sir Patrick Vallance, Government Chief Scientific Adviser, and representatives from UKRIO, we hope to draw on our extensive experience and knowledge to provide an informative and interesting conference.

Also speaking will be Susan Zimmerman, Executive Director of the Canadian Secretariat on Responsible Conduct of Research. Given the proposals to introduce oversight measures for research integrity in the UK that draw on systems already in use in Canada and elsewhere, we are sure that this will be a fascinating session.

The conference will also provide delegates the opportunity to discuss issues that matter to them and share their own experiences. Adding to the normal conference programme, we plan to host a drinks reception with canapes at the end of the conference between 16.30-18.00. This will be a networking opportunity and, weather permitting, will be held in the Royal College of Physician’s garden of medicinal plants.

Our 2019 conference will be of interest to anyone with responsibilities for:

  • The promotion of good research practice and research integrity issues within their institution.
  • The management, leadership and development of researchers.
  • How to embed and sustain a culture of good research practice within research teams and organisations.
  • Research ethics, research governance and publication ethics.
  • Ensuring the reliability and reproducibility of research.
  • Addressing concerns about the reliability of research, from human error to allegations of research misconduct.
