Discussions on research integrity often focus on when researchers should be taught about the principles of good research conduct and the perils of questionable practices and misconduct. Many would say that this teaching is essential for PhD students and early-career researchers. Others argue that it should be taught earlier, at the undergraduate stage. They feel it would benefit undergraduate students and prevent PhDs students and new researchers from learning about the issues too late.
