National Research Ethics Service: Publication of student research guidance

A comprehensive guidance document on student research is now available on the NRES website. This collates and updates previous guidance on this subject from NRES, as well as relevant guidance developed in consultation with the NHS R&D Forum within the Integrated Research Application System (IRAS).

The guidance is designed to assist students in preparing applications for ethical review, help academic supervisors when exercising their responsibilities under the NHS Research Governance Framework, and guide members of Research Ethics Committees in undertaking proportionate and facilitative review of research which is undertaken wholly or partly for educational purposes.
