Lesley Alborough joins UKRIO as Events and Training Manager

We’re pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Lesley Alborough as UKRIO’s new Education and Training Manager.
In this key role, Lesley will lead the development and delivery of UKRIO’s growing education, training and events programme – supporting researchers and organisations across all sectors to strengthen good research practice and embed integrity at every stage of the research process.
Lesley brings over 15 years’ experience working across the academic, charitable and research sectors. A social researcher and educator, her work has focused on research integrity, ethics, and developing positive research cultures, with a strong commitment to inclusive and participatory approaches to research, learning and evaluation.
Before joining UKRIO, Lesley held research, research management and research education roles at the Wellcome Trust, Nottingham Trent University, Bayes Business School and the University of Kent. She holds a PhD in Social Policy and a Master’s in Global Development Management.
As Education and Training Manager, Lesley will take forward UKRIO’s strategic commitment to education by managing and enhancing a programme of training, webinars, workshops and events. She will work closely with researchers, institutions and professional support staff to develop tailored learning experiences that meet the evolving needs of the research community and help foster a culture of integrity across disciplines.
We are delighted to welcome Lesley to UKRIO and look forward to working with her as we continue to expand the reach and impact of our education and training programme in support of the highest standards of research integrity.
